Raz-Kids
Big news: We're rolling out Raz-Kids for our primary students! Most parents got login info this week. Please check your child' school bag.
Raz-Kids lets kids read and listen to fun books at their own level. Quizzes make it even more fun. Encourage your child to spend 10-15 minutes reading, a few times a week. It can help build vocabulary, comprehension, and a lifelong love of reading! Log in, choose a book, and let the reading adventure begin!
Map Testing
Through the end of September, students in Grades 2–12 will take the NWEA MAP Growth assessments in Reading, Language, Math, and Science. Yes, Science is new this year! BCCI administers MAP twice a year, September and May, to track student growth and guide teacher instruction.
- MAP is not an achievement test
- The September test is diagnostic: shows where students are starting
- A small increase—or even a dip—in scores compared to MAP scores earlier this year is normal after summer break
- What matters most is the growth students make during the school year.
Communication Between Parents and School
Parents: Please let the school know if there is a better email that we can use to contact you. All updated information should be sent to the homeroom teacher: student name, parent name and updated email. BCCI will then update Alma.
